Administrative/Clerical career pathway

Receptionist

Responsible for clerical support of the imaging department, as well as for transporting patients and assisting the Technologists in their daily functions.  

Patient Service Representative (PSR)

Responsible for organizing and performing all business office functions related to daily operation within the Medical Practice.  Functions include receiving patients, assessing their needs and acting accordingly to ensure patients are provided with access to appropriate health care providers and ancillary services.  Carries out all duties to meet patient needs such as scheduling, record maintenance, facilitating orders, answering telephones, retrieving test results, etc.  Provides clerical support for medical office personnel. 

Unit Secretary

Responsible for performing clerical, receptionist, transportation and communication duties during all shifts and days of the year, as needed by department.

Charge Entry Specialist

Responsible for preparing charges for entry into the e-Clinical billing system for all physician practices as well as ensuring accuracy and verification of charge component levels prior to passing of charges. You will also be responsible for resolution of charges associated with assigned practices within an established time frame. Other office work can be assigned.

Administrative Assistant

Responsible for providing assistance to the Administrator in managing day-to-day operations through adherence to residents’ rights, government regulations, policies and emergency guidelines and procedures. You will perform assigned clerical duties needed to effectively and efficiently manager the daily operations and oversee basic facility operations in the absence of the Administrator.

Administrative Coordinator

Responsible for assisting the management department in all areas needed.

Authorization Assistant

Responsible for obtaining all authorizations of outpatient testing. You will schedule the outpatient testing with the outpatient scheduling department and informs the patient of the appointment and any instructions for testing. 

Credentialing Technician

Assist in the enrollment of Penn Highlands Practitioners with various payers for professional services reimbursement. Complete timely application processes based on payor specific formats. Continually follow up on enrollment statuses until completed. Resolve issues and maintain accurate records/applications used in the enrollment process. 

Prep Scan Indexer

Responsible to maintain daily workflow, insuring that records are scanned in a timely and efficient manner to avoid delay in further processing.  In addition you will be responsible for indexing all documents to the appropriate patient folder and for ensuring each document is assigned the appropriate document name.

Surgical Scheduler

Support the Physician or Advanced Practice Provider to obtain all authorizations for surgery. The Surgical Scheduler will schedule the surgery and prepare all necessary items needed prior to the day of procedure. 

Clinical Call Center Coordinator

Responsible for receiving incoming phone calls into the clinic, processes refill requests and prior authorizations for medications.  You will also process incoming referrals and scheduling in the appropriate location.

Coordinator of Referral Management

Responsible for the management of referrals in the Behavioral Health system, which includes all Outpatient Behavioral Health facilities within the Penn Highlands system.

Clinical Coordinator

Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care in the office. You will be required to coordinate the care with other with other Penn Highlands DuBois services, or outside health care providers. The Clinical Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Physician, the Mid-Level Provider and all other health care providers. You will also assist in coordination of clinical schedules.
