About Beacon Light Behavioral Health System

The phrase Beacon Light actually refers to two distinct companies:

Beacon Light Behavioral Health System (BLBHS) and Beacon Light Adult Residential Services (BLARS).

Together they provide mental health services to adults, children and families in both community-based and residential settings. Individually, BLARS primarily provides residential programs for adults, while BLBHS provides community-based and residential programs for children, as well as community-based programs for adults.

The Beacon Light companies are affiliates of Journey Health System, headquartered in Bradford, Pa. Both Beacon Light companies have facilities in Bradford, Warren, Ulster, McClure, and State College, Pa., while also serving clients from virtually every county throughout the state.

Mission

Our mission is to advocate passionately for the individuals and families we serve.

Services

  • Residential Programs for Adults
  • For individuals dually diagnosed with an intellectual and developmental disability, Beacon Light offers a variety residential programs.
  • Residential Programs for Children
  • For children struggling with a mental health challenge severe enough to require removal from the home by county-based Children & Youth Services or Juvenile Probation, Beacon Light offers a variety residential programs.
  • Community Programs for Adults
  • Statistics vary, but as many as 1 in every 8 American adults will struggle with mental illness at some point during life. But unlike a cold or the flu, many mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, or schizophrenia are less understood by regular physicians, family members, or even the individual suffering from it.
  • Community Programs for Children
  • For the families of children struggling through mental or behavioral health challenges, daily life can be difficult and parents may not know where to turn or what services or options are available.

Core values

  • To be the provider of choice for services that support the recovery and resiliency of individuals in the communities we serve throughout rural Pennsylvania.
