Description
Responsible for managing the technical and commercial quoting process for Gasbarre's Press & Automation Division. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, engineering, and internal teams to ensure timely, profitable, and technically sound proposals. The position is also responsible for maintaining visibility into the quote pipeline, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring open, reliable communication across departments.
Tasks
- Develop/manage technical quotes for press/automation equipment to meet goals and margin targets.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure accurate equipment costing and lead time estimates.
- Update quote backlog and CRM with follow-ups, expected orders, and communication status.
- Build strong customer relationships by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries.
- Act as subject matter expert on press/automation tech, applications, and product options.
- Work with Sales, Engineering & Service teams to ensure smooth project/quote handoffs.
- Keep organized records of quotes, feedback, pricing, and status in CRM or shared systems.
Qualifications / Education
- 5+ years’ experience in technical sales, estimating, or applications engineering in capital equipment or automation environments.
- Understanding of international markets, including cultural differences, trade regulations, and customer needs.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and CNC press systems and their industrial applications.
