Automation Sales Engineer

Description

Under the direction of the Automation Manager, internally and externally support the Automation project sales and production process.  Work with the Sales team to meet and exceed the customer’s requirements and expectations.

Tasks

  • Build relationships with potential customers to understand needs and project requirements.
  • Interpret needs, gather specs, and work with stakeholders to create accurate cost estimates.
  • Produce detailed, accurate quotes and scopes of work (SOW) for customer review.
  • Support sales with onsite visits, tech demos, and new automation presentations.
  • Manage ongoing automation projects to ensure timelines and goals are met.
  • Track opportunities, quotes, and contacts accurately in company systems.
  • Monitor project progress to control costs and recommend improvements.

Qualifications / Education

  • 3+ years’ experience in Automation Engineering and/or Automation Sales role
  • Acquire and apply the technical skills required for success in the position
  • Strong interpersonal & teamwork skills 
  • Willingness and ability to learn
  • Literate in Microsoft Office Suite  (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Travel, mainly locally
  • Lift up to 25 lbs
