Description
Plans and direct work on complex projects, along with engaging various parties in design and development. Costs and recommendations of new machinery and components also involve part of the job scope.
Tasks
- Manage all aspects of work assigned from start to finish and ensure that all work is carried out within the set time and budgetary requirements.
- Prepare and manage engineering projects including specification, design, and equipment selection.
- Prepare and interpret engineering reports, drawings, layouts and other (visual) aids.
- Manage project issues and schedules.
- Analyze problems and coming up with designs to solve them.
- Working within the budget to deliver safe, high-quality products on time.
- Develop design prototypes.
- Design for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
- Analyze and assess problems.
- Assess new product designs to meet project and product requirements.
- Assess properties of materials to decide on suitable materials for manufacturing.
- Control performance of machines to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Create engineering designs.
- Use 2D/3D CAD to design precision machinery to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Manage product design and development to meet project and product requirements.
- Allocating resources and time effectively.
- Attend meetings and provide input and updates.
- Analyze data to write reports.
- Communicate with staff, managers, and clients.
- Mentor new engineers.
Qualifications / Education
- Associates or Technical Degree in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic field with 15+ years’ experience in related discipline.
- High energy and organized individual
- Strong interpersonal & teamwork skills
- Willingness and ability to learn
- Willing to travel up to 10%
- Literate in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Deep experience in 2D & 3D CAD design
