Description
Previous experience with cost estimating and a general understanding of the machining, fabrication, and assembly process to manufacture components to completion.
Tasks
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications / Education
- A good understand of Machining, Fabrication methods and equipment. Previous cost estimating experience is a plus.

- MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Attention to detail
- Visual Manufacturing software is a plus
- High level understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T requirements
- A background in Quality control is a plus
- This job requires sitting, walking, standing, driving, and also minimal lifting.
