Production Planning Manager

Description

Organize production according to demand. Ensure products are produced on time and are well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. Must be organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills, delegating as practical to their direct reports. The goal is to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of our production operations.

Tasks

  • Organizes production schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment. 
  • Works with the production team and sales to set promise dates for new orders. 
  • Maintains, coordinates and monitors performance of the daily and weekly schedule for all areas in the shop including the review of available capacity and priorities. 
  • Ensures timely preparation and submission of status and progress reports and related data required. 
  • Assist in or assume primary responsibility for preparing an effective and easily understood Equipment Schedule and maintain knowledge of key project milestones. 
  • Ensure compliance to schedule and manage appropriation of resources required to meet on time delivery requirements. 
  • Manage communications for schedule disruptions. 
  • Manage expeditors to ensure material and components reach work areas in a timely manner. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate’s degree in a manufacturing discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years of progressive planning/scheduling experience working in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with scheduling software and concepts, including lean.

  •  Scheduling Module 
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, and Excel 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Broad knowledge of machining operations (mill, lathe, grinding, etc.) 
  • Broad knowledge of fabrication operations (burn table, welding, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of assembly operations (electrical and mechanical) 
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude 
  • Self-starter, collaborator, high work ethic, with a “hands-on” approach 
  • Versatile and able to perform and coordinate multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical skills with a disciplined approach to planning/scheduling
