Description
Responsible for the medical and non-medical management of the individuals served, by assisting the LIP’s in delivering the appropriate care within the PRTF model of the residential setting.
Tasks
- Direct patient care in conjunction with prescriber’s schedule to obtain medical/nursing/psychiatric history and nursing assessments prior to psychiatric evaluations and med checks for LIP visits.
- Perform basic assessment of the client, recording vital signs, noting changes and investigating further as necessary. Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of clients’ mental state reporting that information to the LIP’s.
- Care for and treat patients in the residential environment as directed by the prescriber.
- Meeting with prescribers and keeping them informed of special orders concerning patients.
- Communicating prescribers order changes to appropriate staff.
Qualifications / Education
- High school education or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- Hold a certification as a CNA or an EMT
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in mental health recovery
