Description

Responsible to organize the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, overseeing employees, production, and equipment to ensure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely. This role manages scheduling, oversees daily manufacturing activities, and increases production by providing leadership and developing strategic plans.

Tasks

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day plant operations to exceed customers’ expectations for quality and delivery 
  • Increasing production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs 
  • Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping 
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully to produce optimal results 
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus 
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions 
  • Manage QMS, QMS Management Representative 
  • Recruit, manage, and develop plant staff 
  • Collect and analyze data to find waste 
  • Enforce existing and improve plant safety procedures 
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets 
  • Address employee issues 
  • Stay up-to-date with latest production management best practices and concepts 
  • Quote current & new products as necessary 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or Business Management and 5+ years of proven success in senior manufacturing/production role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • Demonstrated problem solver in a technical environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiarity with ERP concepts (Infor Visual a plus) 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) 
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise 
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory processes 
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example 
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
