Director of Nursing

Responsible for overseeing the provision of medical and nursing care provided to individuals served in residential and ambulatory services. He/she supports physicians, sets nursing policy standards and oversees nursing services provided to individuals across the organizations through consultation with Executive Directors and program managers.

• Assessing clients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed, and treatment administered in accordance with Physician's instructions.
• Monitors Medication Administration Documentation so it is done in a timely and efficient manner within the EHR system.
• Providing supervision and support in the management of the clinical/health services departments of assigned affiliates (BLBHS, BLARS, DCI, DBHW)
• Ensuring the scheduling of nursing on call coverage for assigned programs, and supervising contracted staff as necessary.
• Oversight of the agency's medication administration training program, including initial training of staff to pass medications safely, and delegation of required review and observation activities to qualified staff as appropriate.
