Description
Primary responsibility to support the functions of the Business Office including, revenue contracts, insurance verification, billing and accounts receivable. Manages contract documentation and processing, performs insurance verification functions as assigned, assists with preparation of billing as assigned, and assists in accounts receivable as assigned. Collaboration with key staff to support revenue cycle functions.
Tasks
- Maintain communications with Supervisor and all members of the business office team as necessary to understand payer requirements and processes.
- Verifies insurance status for new referrals and admissions to programs, prior to services being rendered.
- Maintains contract tracking document; prepares revenue contracts for review by supervisor, processes contract documents and correspondence.
- As necessary, obtains Single Case Agreements, Non-Covered Benefit Letters, Eligibility and Network Information, and other supportive documentation.
- Uses electronic systems from payer sources to identify client eligibility for services provided by the agency.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field strongly preferred Health care business office or billing experience strongly preferred
