Description
Oversees the daily management for referral processing, insurance verification, billing, accounts receivable and collections.
Tasks
- Direct supervision and management of the daily functions of the department, which includes processing referrals, verifying insurance/communicating to programs ability to admit, coordinating benefits, benefit assignments in EMR, charge master maintenance, billing and invoicing payers, accounts receivable follow up, and appeals processes.
- Direct supervision and management of the daily functions of the department.
- Oversees all referral processing through insurance verification; ensures that staff communicates with program staff to ensure benefits are available and assists in benefit coordination.
- Reviewing revenue contracts and overseeing contract set up for all revenue sources in the electronic billing system; maintains current understanding of all payer fee schedules, timely filing parameters and other key data elements and translates accurately to the charge master.
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of any modifications or upgrades to the billing system and assesses impact on current operations.
Qualifications / Education
- Minimum of Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business, accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience, in management of insurance verification, billing and collections, or related managerial experience required
