Description

Responsible for performing comprehensive weatherization and building inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and program specifications. This role involves conducting audits, inspections, and diagnostic tests; reviewing work orders; and providing energy education to clients. The position also includes training subcontractors, assisting with job scheduling, managing inventory, and performing property maintenance tasks. Additional responsibilities include responding to emergencies, maintaining vehicles and logs, and supporting monitoring activities. Travel and attendance at trainings and meetings are required.

Tasks

1.     Conducts weatherization and building tasks in accordance with standards, priorities, procedures, OSHA, and all safety requirements.
2.    Assesses, installs materials, performs repairs, and documents weatherization measures; responds and resolves after hours/weekend/holiday emergencies.
3.    Performs audits and inspections; safety checks; and duct pressure, blower door, heating system, refrigerator, and gas line tests; conducts energy education. 
4.    Assists with the scheduling of jobs; reviews work orders for accuracy and completeness.
5.    Trains weatherization subcontractors and mentors staff; assists and accompanies monitors/auditors.
6.    Performs property maintenance and repairs, including cleaning and painting.
7.     Assists with inventory control; ensures appropriate materials and equipment are available for jobs.

Qualifications / Education

Technical/Trade School Degree in HVAC, Carpentry, Construction or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have Energy Auditor certification and be capable of obtaining the following certifications:  Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst; Home Energy Professional (HEP): Retrofit Installer Technician, Crew Leader, and Quality Control Inspector (QCI); and Environmental Protection Agency’s Certified Lead Renovator.
