Description

Supports weatherization and energy efficiency projects by assisting with audits, inspections, and installation of energy-saving measures. Responsibilities include conducting safety checks, performing property maintenance, scheduling jobs, and ensuring compliance with building codes and standards. The role involves transporting materials, maintaining inventory and vehicles, and providing energy education to clients. This position also requires responding to emergencies outside regular hours, reporting risks with recommended solutions, and completing ongoing training.

Tasks

1.    Conducts weatherization and building tasks in accordance with standards, priorities, procedures, OSHA, and all safety requirements.
2.    Assists with assessing, installing materials, performing repairs, and documenting weatherization measures.
3.    Assists with performing audits and inspections; safety checks; and duct pressure, blower door, heating system, refrigerator, and gas line tests; performs baseload audits, installs energy saving materials, and completes related documentation.
4.    Conducts energy education.
5.    Ensures appropriate materials and equipment are loaded and transported to job site; assists with inventory control.
6.    Responds and resolves after hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies.

Qualifications / Education

Technical/Trade School Degree in HVAC, Carpentry, Construction or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have or be capable of obtaining the following certifications:  Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst; Home Energy Professional (HEP):  Retrofit Installer Technician, Crew Leader, Energy Auditor, and Quality Control Inspector (QCI); and Environmental Protection Agency’s Certified Lead Renovator.
