Description
Ensures compliance with weatherization, energy conservation, and safety standards. This role involves validating auditor and subcontractor work, reviewing data accuracy, and preparing work orders. Responsibilities include conducting audits and safety tests, managing inventory, scheduling staff and vehicles, and responding to emergencies. The position also requires training staff, supervising personnel, resolving job issues, and assisting with pricing analysis. Frequent travel and participation in meetings and site visits are essential.
Tasks
1. Ensures compliance with weatherization, energy conservation, and safety directives.
2. Validates auditors’ and inspects subcontractor’s work to ensure compliance with Department of Energy’s Standard Work Specifications and FirstEnergy’s Policies and Procedures; ensures compliance with grantor allowable job costs.
3. Prepares work orders for release to subcontractors; analyzes costs; ensures inventory management..
4. Trains staff and subcontractors; mediates and documents job issues; resolves in a timely manner.
5. Performs audits; safety checks; and duct pressure, blower door, heating system, refrigerator, and gas line tests.
6. Assists with the validation and dispatch of crisis referrals; responds to after hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies.
7. Supervises staff; completes and documents personnel actions.
Qualifications / Education
Technical/Trade School Degree in HVAC, Carpentry, Construction, or a related field and related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have and maintain the following certifications: Home Energy Professional (HEP) Quality Control Inspector (QCI); Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst; and Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead Certified Renovator.
