Description
Responsible for the keeping the Facility healthful, clean and presentable at all times. The work is performed under general supervisor of the Administrator/Executive Director. General supervision is exercised over the work of operations support employees in Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
Tasks
- Directs and provides guidance and assistance to the Housekeeping, Service Assistant and Laundry working Assist supervisors and staff in resolving problems, giving instruction, and improving department performance;
- Interviews, hires, disciplines and completes performance evaluations of all employees in Environmental Services;
- Oversees employee coordination and work assignment schedules of both 7-3 and 3-11 shifts;
- Completes audits and rounds of all areas within facility to inspect for compliance and appropriate presentation;
- Develops training programs;
- Makes recommendations for development, programs and forward movement;
- Provides oversight for technical workforce;
- Prepares annual budget and works within its parameters;
- Prepares requisitions for products and services;
- Evaluates and tests housekeeping products and equipment;
- Works with other department heads to resolve Housekeeping needs and improve services to facility and residents;
- Assists with physical inventory of linen and other supplies as necessary;
- Is a member of mandatory committees, including Quality Assurance, Infection Control, and Fire/Safety; Is responsible for appropriate health and safety rules related to the work environment of the employees within the department.
- Is responsible for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing local, state and federal regulations and established policies and procedures of Conestoga View. Reviews work progress through inspections.
- Must demonstrate high levels of patience, judgment, diplomacy, tact and courtesy in achieving good interpersonal relations. This individual must demonstrate a high degree of motivation, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize and self-direct. Champion projects from start to finish. Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety.
- Must be able to have flexibility to work after hours and on weekends to respond to emergency as well as non-emergency situations. Will be assigned in the Manager on Duty rotation.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent. Extensive experience in institutional Housekeeping and/or Laundry activities, including considerable supervisory experience.
