Description

Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, budgeting, and physical management of the facility, residents, and equipment in such a manner that the purpose of the facility will be established and maintained in accordance with established policies.

Tasks

  • Assures the provision of high quality services needed and/or desired by residents.
  • Attains and/or maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, State, Federal, regulatory and/or accrediting body standards. Ensures that the program is prepared for inspection by regulatory agencies through regular auditing and updating of program policies and procedures, medical records documentation, environmental standards, etc.
  • Attains and/or maintains the targeted occupancy level.
  • Strives to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through ongoing solicitation and measurement of consumer feedback, implementation of consumer suggestions, interactive problem solving with residents, and an annual program evaluation/quality assurance effort.
  • Makes measurable improvements in the overall coordination of all aspects of the program’s consumer services.
  • Prepares and administers the annual budget. Monitors and maintains cost control.
  • Promotes and implements constructive problem solving. Establish facility procedures that are in conformance with Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to the total healthcare needs and safety of the residents, and the protections of their personal and property rights; pertaining to personnel, medical staff, financial status, public relations, and maintenance of building and grounds.
  • Interprets said procedures and philosophy to residents, staff, and family/legal representative(s), and visitors.
  • Makes recommendation for changes in personnel, in-service education/training programs.
  • Supervises the employment, evaluation, and training of competent personnel to supervise the activities of all facility departments. Provides assistance to department heads in the selection of all other employees
  • Maintains personnel policies governing employee conduct, working hours, and salary structure. Reviews and evaluates competence of personnel on a regular basis

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two-year college or university; or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university; or Current Pennsylvania RN license; or Licensed practical nurse from the Department of State and one year of work experience in a related field; or, Licensed as a nursing home administrator from the Department of State. Current PA Personal Care license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care facility.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to personal care facilities; knowledge of current standards of practice for personal care facilities; knowledge of personnel administration.
