Description
Responsible for the complete operation of the dining services department, including planning, organizing, overseeing and managing. They will be the liaison between the dining services department, Administrator and other departments
Tasks
- Assists in filing records and completing all forms as required by company policies such as number of meals served, menus, copying, ordering, inventory, Meals on Wheels.
- Maintains records for ordering and inventory. Meets regularly to review menu and production guidelines.
- Does cost analysis when instructed.
- Completes spend down sheet.
- Must be able to work with a computerized menu and tray card program.
- Maintains diet information.
- Inputs resident data
- Updates food preferences
- Prints and organizes tray tickets
- Assists with input of new menus and menu changes
- Processes Special Function Requests by copying, distributing and costing
- Type’s general work, including policies, procedures, memos, recipes, meeting notes, etc.
- Enters data on computer
- Updates, prints, copies and distributes weekly menus
- Orders monthly clerical office supplies;
- Completes all weekly food order to vendors
- Answers telephone, takes messages, and gives general information in response to inquiries
- Compiles and tracks data for monthly reports.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
- Monitors the Personal Care Home kitchen and dining room: including sanitation, meal services and customer service
- Collects meal preferences daily
- Monitors tray line upon request
- Interacts with staff/residents
- Attends essential meetings
Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor degree in Dietetics/Dining Services preferred; or, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Dietetic Technician or completion of DMA approved course within first eighteen months of employment and successful completion of examination to become certified.
- 5 year of experience in management or supervisory capacity in dining services preferably in a health facility setting
