Description
Provide design and prototyping across a range of applications from capital equipment to contract manufactured parts. Support of manufacturing in the form of pre-production drawing preparation, part routing, and part updates in company ERP.
Tasks
- Develop CAD, Inventor, & flat pattern DXF files
- With production, identify design-for-manufacturing improvements and implement where approved
- Provide support to manufacturing for design and manufacturing questions, concerns, and challenges
- Assume accountability and responsibility as the primary engineer for contract manufacturing projects
- Design fixtures for processing new machined components
- Assist programming of CNC machines, laser, & brake (training provided)
Qualifications / Education
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and other mechanical engineering concepts
- Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus and physics
- Prior extensive experience with CAD, Inventor a plus
- Knowledge of MasterCam software is a plus
- Creative thinking, innovation, advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Positive attitude and conscientious demeanor
- This job requires limited amounts of walking, standing, sitting, lifting (a maximum of 25 pounds).
