Description

Administer quality nursing care to residents, assess residents’ health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. A RN also assists in the direction and supervision of other nursing personnel and helps promotes a positive physical and psychosocial environment amongst residents and staff.

Tasks

  • Supervises nursing staff: scheduling, recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, and discipline.
  • Oversees resident care delivery, ensuring compliance with physician orders, care plans, and policies.
  • Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Assesses residents’ physical and emotional status; documents changes in medical records.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and update resident care plans.
  • Uses problem-solving to improve resident care, working closely with Director of Nursing Services.
  • Maintains safety, infection control, emergency protocols, and communicates resident status to all parties.

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate’s Degree is necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Current RN license is required
  • Employee must be in good standing with the state
  • Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required
  • Sufficient education in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved.
  • Experience as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
