Activity Assistant

Responsible for assisting with activities for the residents of the nursing facility in accordance with each individual’s total plan of care.

• Participate in projects improving quality of life for residents and staff.
• Assist and encourage residents in developmental and quality of life activities.
• Transport residents and accompany them to off-unit activities and bus trips.
• Visit assigned residents one-to-one weekly; assist at mealtimes.
• Lead active, passive, or sensory activities with residents.
• Instruct and supervise volunteers; maintain activity supplies orderly.
• Assist in planning facility-wide programs and events.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred 1 year experience in social/recreational programs, in nursing home or assisted living/personal care setting.
