Description
Maintain standard costs and its ongoing analysis. This role will be a key member of the accounting team in providing costing support and in other accounting areas. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Tasks
- Develop and maintain standard costs
- Perform the monthly closing activities including preparation of manufacturing variances along with supporting analysis
- Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
- Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
- Participate in profitability analysis in regard to quoting and costing
- Work with Manufacturing to conduct physical inventory audits for the quarter-end and year-end physical inventory
- Communicate / Educate internal and external organizations regarding the cost data
- Manage the day to day financial and data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business, working with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to drive efficiencies in production and purchasing
- Prepare variance analysis report for inventory, manufacturing cost and standard cost variances
- Records, monitors, reports and communicates function/business results Analyses deviations in detail and prepares presentations and decision memos for management or the respective business or local entity level
- Variance analysis and review of cost allocation assumptions and rates
- Coordination with Operations and Plant Managers to facilitate the periodic update of the standard costs in the bill of materials
Qualifications / Education
- Meticulous and independent individual is important
- Minimally a degree in Finance and/or Accounting, or Engineering
- Minimum of three 3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Windows Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
