Description

The Radiation Therapist Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Radiation Therapist and Director is responsible for the set up of the radiation therapy patient using specialized equipment and technical skills.

Tasks

  • Explain the procedure to patients, positioning them accurately on the treatment table.
  • Operate radiation equipment to deliver precise doses of radiation to targeted areas of the body.
  • Follow treatment plans designed by oncologists and ensure that the prescribed dosage is accurately administered.
  • Observe patients during and after radiation treatment for any side effects or reactions.
  • Accurately document treatment sessions, including dosage, equipment settings, and any patient concerns or reactions.

Qualifications / Education

  • X-Ray Technologist RT(R) degree or currently enrolled in Radiation Therapy program
