Description

Responsible to the Department Manager, Pharmacy Supervisor, and Pharmacist. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist you will perform IV admixture preparation, fill medication orders, and maintain drug inventory and records. You will need to be competent in all billing and crediting processes within the pharmacy department.

Tasks

  • Receive and review prescription orders.
  • Ensuring prescriptions are accurately entered, verify dosage and drug interactions, and prepare for dispensing supervised by pharmacist.
  • Monitor medication stock levels, order and receive supplies, check expiration dates, and organize medications.
  • Offer guidance to patients on their medications, including dosage instructions, side effects, potential interactions, and storage.
  • Process prescription refills, coordinate medication transfers between pharmacies, and ensure that patients’ needs are met.

Qualifications / Education

  • Current Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse temporary permit to start, then has 90 days to obtain LPN required OR Certified Pharmacy Technician at hire or obtained within six months of hire
