Description

Responsible for providing a variety of non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patients.

Tasks

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as moving, transferring, or positioning them in bed.
  • Take and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, such as wound care, collecting urine or blood specimens for testing.
  • Educate patients on basic health maintenance, such as proper hygiene, exercise, nutrition, or following care instructions.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must attend hospital training if no previous hospital or pre-hospital training
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
