Description

Responsible to function as an essential member of the team in the practice setting or on units as indicated by physician needs.

Tasks

  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams, record patient history, and assess overall health.
  • Make diagnoses based on assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
  • Offer patients education on lifestyle changes, disease prevention, nutrition, and self-care management.
  • Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications / Education

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Physician Assistant preferred
  • Maintain a Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, both Medical and Osteopathic preferred
  • Collaborative agreement approved through the state within 3 months of start date required; National certification required
  • DEA required within 6 months of start date
  • Current Healthcare provider CPR through the American Heart Association required at time of hire
  • Maintains ACLS and PALS certification preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure required
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a board-recognized national certification organization (as per the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing) which requires the passing of a national certifying examination in the particular clinic specialty area in which the applicant is seeking certification by the board; Healthcare Provider CPR certification from American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of (1) year experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Maintain current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
