Midwife

Coordinate care of patients seen at PH Life's Journey OB/GYN.  This includes performing histories, physicals, and procedures; order laboratory and diagnostic tests; and developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans.  The primary physician will provide guidance as needed daily through face-to-face interaction or by telephone if necessary.

• Conduct regular prenatal checkups, monitoring the health of both mother and baby.
• Provide education on pregnancy-related topics, and offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, and preparing for childbirth.
• Support women during labor by monitoring progress, managing pain, providing emotional support.
• Assist with delivery in collaboration with other healthcare providers, ensuring a safe and positive birth experience.
• Provide postnatal care to the mother and newborn.
• Offer reproductive health counseling, family planning, and contraceptive advice.
• Conduct gynecological exams and screenings to maintain overall women's health.

• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in nurse midwifery from an accredited university
• Current certification as a nurse midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Active PA State Nurse Midwife license
• Active PA State Nurse Midwife prescriptive authority
• Active PA State RN license; BLS and NRP certification
