Description
Responsible for joint clinical and administrative oversight of Erie Outpatient (EOP) services, with close collaboration with the Director of Treatment Services. The incumbent acts as the Designee of the Director in their absence. The incumbent is responsible for directing, monitoring and assisting in the daily operation of the outpatient clinic, which includes but is not limited to the following: supervision of clinical therapy staff and support staff, regular contact and/or consultation with physicians, physician extenders and nursing staff, management of internal processes, and leadership in developing therapeutic programming and efficient operational systems. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assistance with budget development and monitoring, establishing and sustaining productive community ties and provider relationships, maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations and troubleshooting any problematic issues that arise throughout the course of each day. The Clinical Supervisor will maintain a focus on mental health recovery approaches through leadership by example, coaching and the development of programmatic systems that promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
Tasks
- Leadership: Possesses and demonstrates confidence, assertiveness and the ability to manage staff and direct program operation according to the organization's mission, vision and strategic initiatives; ability to accept and successfully complete tasks and projects as assigned; creates and consistently monitors a clear agenda for program and operational development and follows through on plans; models and maintains objectivity and displays a fair and level approach to conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Effectively monitors clinical aspects of program operation included in the provision of services; monitors appointment scheduling and client flow, staffing patterns, utilization of space and resources, and overall facility needs to ensure an efficient and effective clinic operation; ensures that contract components are fulfilled and regulatory requirements are met; reports on client and program outcomes, customer satisfaction, and other measures established to monitor quality programming; quickly and effectively conducts troubleshooting activities to resolve problematic issues.
- Clinical Knowledge & Skill: Demonstrates working knowledge of the mental health system, criminal justice system, available resources and utilization of other community providers as warranted; utilizes experience, up-to-date knowledge and best practice guidelines to provide sound clinical leadership to staff; able to model and teach staff how to help clients become active participants in their recovery journey; maintains certification and/or licensure as appropriate to the scope of practice.
- Fiscal Responsibilities: Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by adhering to budgetary guidelines and facilitating the resolution to budgetary concerns; participates in the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of realistic service projections; ensures that billing processes are completed in an accurate and timely manner; consistently monitors productivity and devises feasible methods for addressing problematic issues.
- Staff Recruitment & Development: Practices a proactive approach to recruiting so as to ensure the availability and hiring of a diverse and qualified pool of professionals to fill available positions; provides orientation, training, coaching, supervision, discipline and evaluation to ensure the retention of high quality staff and the provision of effective service; ensures that staff are availed of relevant professional development opportunities to enhance the variety and quality of services.
Qualifications / Education
- Masters level degree and at least 3 years experience in a course of study related to the position. Minimum of two years of staff supervision
