Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Description

Under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR), you’ll assist in patient evaluation, treatment planning and treatment implementation, facilitating development and maintenance of the patient's optimum level of independence in age-appropriate daily life tasks.  The COTA actively participates in departmental activities and processes.

Tasks

  • Gather patient information, observe abilities, and document their progress toward therapy goals.
  • Carry out individualized treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
  • Track and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
  • Instruct patients and their families or caregivers on exercises and strategies for improving functional abilities.

Qualifications / Education

  • Current PA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license
  • Healthcare provider CPR certification through the American Heart Association within the first year of hire required
