Description
The Strategic Planning and Project Manager provides oversight and implementation of policies and processes, policy development, procurement, grant writing and project management to ensure the workforce development system in the region is exceeding performance measures. Position also manages the Youth Committee, the TANF Youth Development plans and programs, and provides labor market data to partners and agencies throughout the region.
Tasks
- Write, revise and maintain Board program policies
- Manage activities of the Youth Committee
- Develop and implement TANF Youth plans, reporting and data management
- Manage, develop and analyze data for solutions and/or program improvements
- Implement procurement process for various activities of the WDB
- Research grant opportunities, develop and submit grants
- Manage special projects; implement the Business Education Partnership grant; and foster relationships with various stakeholders locally, regionally, and statewide.
Qualifications / Education
3-5 years of experience in grant writing and workforce development

Must have a high level of reasoning and problem solving skills.
Must have a high level of judgment and decision-making skills.
Must have a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good time management and multi-tasking skills.
Must have extensive interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be flexible and willing to learn, i.e. new software programs, etc.
Must have ability to supervise others.
Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally and statewide on a frequent
basis.
Must have a good knowledge of the regional road system.
Must have competent PC skills and knowledge of MS Office software.
Sitting: 80%; Walking/standing: 20%

4 year degree in planning, business management or related field (or related work experience)
