Description
The Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board is the chief administrative officer of Workforce Solutions and the WDB, providing critical leadership in planning, organizing, and directing the operations.
Tasks
- Provides leadership in the development of a comprehensive workforce system
- Develops, directs and implements strategic policies, procedures and activities of the Board
- Develops the overall workforce plan
- Oversees the administration of Workforce Solutions; serves as chief staff support to the Board and the Chief Elected Local Officials
- Authorizes budgets, expenditures, staffing recommendations, contracts and other requests including negotiating of contracts and agreements
- Ensures the successful and continuous improvement of our PA CareerLink® centers in the North Central region
- Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and organizations in local, regional, statewide and national arenas
Qualifications / Education
5 years related management experience in workforce development or public service.
Special Requirements
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation vehicle; ability to travel extensively
for meetings, conferences, outreach, etc.
Must be willing to work the necessary hours required to fulfill position responsibilities.
Must be able to network with others on a high level.
Must have a high level of both written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills.
Must have a high level of reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Must have a high level of judgment and decision-making skills.
Must have good time management and multi-tasking skills.
Must have ability to supervise others.
Must have a good knowledge of the regional road system.
Must have competent PC skills and knowledge of MS Office software.
Must have a high-level ofintegrity and honesty.
Must have customer-service skills.
Must have familiarity with business principles and practices
Must have superior attention to detail.
Must have analytical and critical thinking skills.
Must have organizational and planning skills.
Sitting: 80%; Walking/standing: 20%

Bachelor's (or related experience) degree in business, business management, or a related field.
