Description

Responsible for the clinical and administrative management of the MMM program. Duties include the supervision and mentoring of both the Assistant Supervisor, and the direct care professionals who provide medication monitoring, education, skills training and support services to individuals with mental health needs in the MMM program; internal and external communication and/or education to referral sources for the MMM program; budget development and monitoring; enforcement and monitoring of regulatory requirements; and direction of overall program operations. The incumbent will maintain a focus on mental health recovery approaches through leadership by example, coaching and the development of programmatic systems that promote interdisciplinary collaboration.

Tasks

  • Possesses and demonstrates confidence, assertiveness and the ability to manage staff and direct program operation according to the organization's mission, vision and strategic initiatives; ability to accept and successfully complete tasks and projects as assigned; creates and consistently monitors a clear agenda for program and operational development and follows through on plans; models and maintains objectivity and displays a fair and level approach to conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Clinical Knowledge & Skill ? Demonstrates working knowledge of the mental health system, available resources and utilization of other community providers as warranted; utilizes experience, up-to-date knowledge and best practice guidelines to provide sound clinical leadership to staff; able to model and teach staff how to help clients become active participants in their recovery journey; maintains certification and/or licensure as appropriate to the scope of practice.
  • Staff Recruitment & Development ?Practices a proactive approach to recruiting so as to ensure the availability and hiring of a diverse and qualified pool of professionals to fill available positions; provides orientation, training, coaching, supervision, discipline and evaluation to ensure the retention of high quality staff and the provision of effective service; ensures that staff are availed of relevant professional development opportunities to enhance the variety and quality of services.
  • Liaison ? Establishes and maintains relationships, communication and a collaborative approach with other services and providers both internal and external to the organization to ensure continuity of care, resource coordination and effectiveness of recovery-focused services and supports; maintains positive relationships and communication with families and/or significant others; serves as the organization's representative for assessing referrals, participating in community team meetings and developing plans for program participation.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities - Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by adhering to budgetary guidelines and facilitating the resolution to budgetary concerns; participates in the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of realistic service projections; ensures that billing processes are completed in an accurate and timely manner; consistently monitors productivity and devises feasible methods for addressing problematic issues.

Qualifications / Education

  • Masters level degree in a human services related field and 5 years of supervisory experience; or, equivalent education and experience as determined by agency standards and guidelines of position; licensure preferred.
  • Current certification as Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor, or will attain within one year of employment; current certification in psychiatric rehabilitation (CPRP), or will attain within one year of employment.
