Description

 Responsible for performing specialist-level energy technician work by designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced steam trap, steam trace, condensate, and related steam systems. This position supervises craft work, coordinates contractors, develops maintenance procedures, manages inventory, leads safety meetings, and fills in for the supervisor when needed. 

Tasks

Supervise craft employees, fill in for the supervisor, and delegate daily work. 
 Perform advanced steam trap design, installation, maintenance, and valve stem packing procedures. 
 Build steam manifolds and monitor, repair, tag, track, and maintain over 2,500 steam traps. 
 Troubleshoot refinery steam system issues and prevent steam condensate buildup to maintain operating efficiency. 
 Design and document condensate lines with engineering and develop inspection plans for steam heaters and steam traps. 
 Manage inventory, spare parts, trap surveys, repair records, and steam trap management system documentation. 
 Coordinate contractor work, lead safety topics, facilitate meetings, and develop procedures for equipment and repairs.

Qualifications / Education

High School Diploma required. 
8–10 years of experience preferred. 
Minimum 1 year at ARG preferred but not required. 
Asbestos training preferred. 
Leadership training preferred. 
SafetyAmp instructor experience preferred. 
Advanced knowledge of steam trap design and installation required. 
Advanced knowledge of steam trace tubing installation required. 
Advanced knowledge of pipe threading and fitting functions required.
Advanced knowledge of insulation design and installation required. 
Experience with Microsoft Suite, time entry, ADP, SafetyAmp, steam trap management systems, and CMMS preferred.
