Description
Responsible for performing journeyman-level energy technician work by maintaining, repairing, and monitoring steam traps, condensate systems, and related steam equipment. This position supports steam system efficiency, follows all safety procedures, assists with inventory and trap surveys, and helps maintain accurate records for repairs and system performance.
Tasks
Perform steam trap maintenance, installation, and valve stem packing procedures for VOC maintenance of steam systems.
Build steam manifolds and maintain steam traps, monitors, repairs, tags, and tracking records.
Check, maintain, repair, tag, and track over 2,500 steam traps to maintain adequate temperatures.
Make necessary repairs to process equipment and learn what steam traps and heaters do.
Read drawings related to steam trap and condensate system installation.
Maintain inventory and spare parts programs in collaboration with the stockroom.
Assist with trap surveys, expansion joint repairs, steam valve repacking, trace line replacement, and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications / Education
High School Diploma required.
2–4 years of experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year at ARG preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of steam trap design and installation required.
Basic knowledge of steam trace tubing required.
Familiarity with basic pipe threading and fitting functions preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Suite, time entry, ADP, SafetyAmp, and steam trap management systems preferred.
