Description
Responsible for performing advanced journeyman-level instrument maintenance work, including troubleshooting, system design, calibration, equipment configuration, and instrumentation support. This position also supervises craft work, leads projects, delegates daily assignments, works with engineers and contractors, and ensures all work is completed safely and correctly.
Tasks
Supervise craft employees, fill in for the supervisor, and delegate daily work.
Lead major projects and may lead specific on-the-job training opportunities.
Design and implement control systems, wireless systems, gas detection systems, and PLC systems.
Design and implement control systems, wireless systems, gas detection systems, and PLC systems.
Troubleshoot and modify burner management systems, DCS systems, PLC systems, and advanced instrumentation.
Conduct field root cause analysis and configure vibration monitoring equipment.
Work with engineers and contractors to solve process deficiencies and manage replacement parts.
Follow safety rules, housekeeping practices, PPE requirements, and safe equipment operation procedures.
Qualifications / Education
High School Diploma required.
Associate degree preferred.
Passing Instrument Technician II test required.
Leadership training preferred.
6–8 years of experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years at ARG preferred but not required.
Certification required for manlift, scissor lift, and forklift.
Advanced knowledge of instrument diagrams, P&IDs, signal troubleshooting, conduit design, tubing design, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Experience with Microsoft Suite, time entry, ADP, SafetyAmp, AMS Device Manager, Studio 5000, ProLink II, RadarMaster, Accumate, Instrument Forms Plus, MMS, Rosemount Wireless Gateway, Crimson Redlion, IX Developer, Control, and Fuel Facs preferred.
Associate degree preferred.
