Description
Responsible for supervising craft employees and supporting advanced insulation work in a refinery setting. This position oversees insulation installation, repairs, material ordering, contractor coordination, safety compliance, and daily work assignments to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Tasks
Supervise craft employees and delegate daily work assignments.
Install, repair, remove, and track insulation around lines, tanks, vessels, and furnaces.
Perform insulating and jacketing work on pipes, tanks, vessels, flanges, valves, pinning, and removable blankets.
Identify material types and application specifications for insulation and refractory requirements.
Order materials, write POs, and manage insulation inventory to ensure adequate supply.
Follow safety regulations, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout rules, and open-line/entry permit procedures.
Coordinate with contractors, lead safety topics, and facilitate team meetings when needed.
Qualifications / Education
High School Diploma required.
8–10 years of insulation or related craft experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year at ARG preferred but not required.
Asbestos training preferred.
SafetyAmp instructor experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of insulation design and installation required.
Comprehensive knowledge of fish mouths, wall coping, valves, roll metal, end caps, furnace design, and steam trace tubing required.
Experience using Microsoft Suite, ADP, time entry systems, and CMMS preferred.
8–10 years of insulation or related craft experience preferred.
