Information Technology (IT) Manager

Description

Responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of IT infrastructure for the organization.  This includes overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals, directing effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery system and processes.  

Tasks

  • Responsible for Electronic Health Record (EHR) management, the integrity of the electronic health record.
  • Identify technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers.
  • Evaluate the organizations adherence to federal technology requirements for security.
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems.
  • Evaluate, plan, and organize electronic data operations.
  • Manage the IT team and establish documented processes for the department.  
  • Maintain company hardware and software programs.
  • Update technological equipment at the organization.
  • Implement organization-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees on new features.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.  
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes. 
  • Preserve assets, information security, and control structures.
  • Handle budget and ensure cost effectiveness. 
  • Builds collaborative effective partnering relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Responsible for end-to-end project management, support, service, and execution of IT processes.
  • Acts as the company HIPAA Security Officer.
  • Supervisor Responsibilities:
    • Accomplishes department objectives by supervising employees and organizing and monitoring work processes.
    • Maintains employee recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
    • Accomplishes employee job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
    • Conducts performance appraisals
    • Conducts training
    • Implements and enforces policy and procedures
    • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.  
    • Develops schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathers resources, and resolves problems.

Qualifications / Education

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 
  • Associate degree in information technology required
  • Experience with an EMR required
  • Knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and of computer hardware/software systems required
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation required
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (EMR) preferred 
  • Experience in healthcare preferred
