Description

This position is responsible to collect, process, retrieve, analyze, and disseminate health care information for purposes of patient care, research, managerial planning, and decision making. This role will maintain confidentiality and ensure that the health data system meets the standards and regulations of government agencies and accrediting and professional organizations.

Tasks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  • Responsible for Electronic Health Record (EHR) management, the integrity of the electronic health record, quality oversight, and data analytics management. 
  • Collaborates with employees, clinicians, and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, and evaluate EHR applications.  
  • Provides support to end-users who use EHR systems.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues as well as software modifications and enhancements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the systems and applications through: attending training courses, reading information available in product announcements, participating in system updates, and subscribing to vendor web sites.
  • Build good working relationships and maintain a continuous interface with customers, vendors, co-workers and supervisor and utilizes these relationships to resolve issues and problems and explore opportunities.
  • Provide training to clinical staff and user clients on EHR and other third party clinical software systems
  • Develop and utilize training manuals and programs to keep the end-users at the highest level of knowledge on the functionality of the system.
  • Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, providers, and other clinical staff on quality initiatives and documentation processes as the organization works to increase quality initiatives and reimbursements by performing the following:
  • Ensures quality initiatives are reviewed, trained, and reported to the proper employees. 
  • Compiles and designs reports on quality and operation initiatives and disperses the reports to the proper team members and/or external parties.  Including, but not limited to UDS reporting, PCMH reporting, payor incentives/reimbursements, etc.  
  • Works with quality to develop and implement workflows, documentation requirements, and care plans to address patient and population health initiatives. 
  • Reviews and evaluates quality data metrics periodically to monitor the organizations progress in those areas.
  •  Ensures end-users are trained on documenting quality initiatives and programs the organization is participating in.  
  • Reviews and enhances workflows for end-users to collect quality data metrics.  
  • Works closely with executive leadership on initiating VBP/payor reimbursement plans and workflows for increased reimbursement incentives.
  • Provides direct oversight and delegation to the Medical Records team members. 
  • Supervisor Responsibilities

Qualifications / Education

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 
  • Associate’s degree in a health science related field or 12 plus years of experience in a similar role required.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in health science related field preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (EMR) preferred 
  • Experience with medical records oversight preferred
