Maintenance Pipefitter/Welder, Journeyman I

Description

Fabricate using work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, sketches and other related documentation.
Understand, refer to and use industry standards for pipe specs and welding codes. Required to take field measurements to determine, length, angles and other dimensions to properly fit for job or task.

Tasks

Learn and follow lockout/tagout procedures and open line/entry permit requirements.

Completes assigned maintenance welding repairs and project work.

Understand and help to maintain all piping systems and vessels with pressures up to 1500 psi and temp up to 1200 degrees F.

Learn to position pieces to be welded, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools 

Learn weld mapping and root cause analysis activities.

Learn to hydrotest, inspect and document completed work for conformance to specifications.

Learn and develop skills to layout piping and structural steel and generate ISO drawings for fabrication and installation of piping and structural projects and basic tubing bending.

Qualifications / Education

2-4 years experience preferred 
High School Diploma
Welding Apprenticeship,  Associate or Trade Certificate Preferred
Qualified Rigger/Signal Training
Obtain 9 ton Carry-deck qualification - quarterly refresher training
Maintain certification Manlift, Scissor lift, Forklift
