Description
The Millwright Specialist provides technical assistance and support for rotating equipment which includes documentation to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance. The Millwright Specialist will trouble shoot rotating equipment problems and support repairs/upgrades associated with it. Individuals in this role will provide valuable input to root cause analysis of failures and work closely with the mechanical integrity group and assist with equipment inspection. This position will work directly with the Reliability Engineers, process personnel, Millwright Shop Supervisor, and technicians. The rotating equipment group seeks to attack underlying causes and eliminate reactive-nature work.
Tasks
Perform basic duties of Millwright with hands-on shop and field work disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, reporting, and reassembling rotating equipment.
Diagnose rotating equipment problems and makes or repairs components to complete machine/equipment installation or repair needs.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, etc. to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
Serves as a liaison to Reliability Department to ensure work and materials used are following manufactures specifications.
Review rotating equipment repair history and effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Evaluate PM/PDM procedures, BOMs and intervals for appropriateness.
Make recommendations to implement/expedite repairs on failed equipment and improve designs of process equipment.

Qualifications / Education
High School Graduate/GED with Associates Degree preferred.
Five or more (5+) years’ experience working with machinery, mechanical, and rotating equipment.
