Description

The Millwright Journeyman II is a high-precision tradesman with advanced knowledge to install, dismantle, maintain, repair, assemble, and move machinery within the refinery. Individuals in this position perform hands on maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, repairs, and documentation on the rotating equipment.  They are also engaged with the erection of machinery which includes such tasks as leveling, aligning, & installing machinery on foundations or base plates, or setting, leveling, & aligning electric motors or other power sources such as turbines. All work done by the Millwright will ensure proper installation to design standards and with the utmost safety in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Tasks

Perform hands-on shop and field disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of rotating equipment.

Help ensure work and materials used are in compliance with manufacturer specifications.

Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required. 

Complete applicable quality documentation and feedback sheets either in electronic or paper form.

Perform day to day and routine safety observations and inspections.

Aligning equipment to industry standards with laser alignment equipment.

Obtain vibration data on a monthly or on a more frequent basis.

Qualifications / Education

High school diploma/GED with Millwright two-year certification preferred.  
Six to ten (6-10) years of experience working with rotating equipment in a refinery or chemical plant.
