Description

Designs, builds, repairs, and maintains precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures used in manufacturing

Tasks

Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances. Design and build tools, dies, molds, and fixtures using various machines and tools. Use CAD/CAM software to create designs and programs for CNC machines. 
Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines. Cut, shape, and finish metal and other materials to create precise components. File, grind, and adjust parts to ensure proper fit and function. 
Inspect finished tools and dies for accuracy and quality. Conduct test runs to ensure tools and dies function correctly. Identify and correct defects or issues. Repair and maintain existing tools and dies. Troubleshoot and resolve tool and die issues. 
Work closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams. 

Qualifications / Education

High School Diploma. Machining Training Certificate. CNC Programming training. Basic Die Setter Training
