Description

The WIC Director is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all services provided by the WIC Program. 

Tasks

  • Conduct community needs assessments to determine clinic locations and co-locate with similar programs.
  • Uphold WIC grant agreements, policies, and guidance set by the State WIC Agency.
  • Manage staffing and financial resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with program staff to plan nutrition, breastfeeding, and outreach activities.
  • Use data and reports to evaluate program success within the local service area.
  • Gather participant feedback and use it for program improvements.
  • Monitor clinic environments and services for compliance, and submit corrective action plans if needed.

Qualifications / Education

Education – Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a nutrition or health related field; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or RDN-Eligible through the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) is preferred. 
Experience – Two years of experience managing, coordinating, or supervising the WIC Program is preferred; or may have other relevant WIC and/or management experience.
