Description

Provides medication management and prescription support services to the consumers of Dickinson Center, Inc. and supportive services to the psychiatrists and mid-level psychiatric practitioners. The Outpatient Nurse is under the clinical and administrative supervision of the Outpatient Nurse Supervisor or the Nurse Practitioner.

Tasks

  • Conducts face-to-face medication management appointments and joins medication clinics as needed.
  • Performs basic health assessments: blood pressure, temperature, and condition tracking.
  • Responds to calls and inquiries from consumers, pharmacies, school nurses, and others on meds/refills.
  • Consults with and supports DCI prescribers, managing lab requests and results as appropriate.
  • Administers injections to consumers as ordered by prescribers.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved nursing program to obtain licensure.
  • Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of PA.
  • Graduate Practical Nurse Permit from the state of Pennsylvania.
