Description

Oversees and conducts assessment of resident physical and mental health needs and medical interventions for the treatment plan. Works as part of the treatment team and participates in treatment team meetings. Supervises the licensed practical nurses. Activities may include health/wellness groups, medication monitoring, advocacy and communication of health needs and maintenance, medication administration, medication storage, maintaining medication documentation information, and supervision of medical staff nurses.

Tasks

  • Assess physical and mental health, obtain medical history at intake.
  • Ensure immunization records are complete and up to date.
  • Communicate special precautions, allergies, diets, and other resident needs.
  • Facilitate blood work per resident needs and established procedures.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred. 1+ years of experience in mental health and physical health settings preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mental health and physical health settings if an LPN.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania preferred.
