Food Service Worker

Description

Responsible for the preparation of quality food for internal and external customers, and for maintaining food safety and quality assurance.  Responsible for the different levels and consistencies of food that patients can tolerate per their diet order.  Keeping a clean environment is key. 

Tasks

  • Prepare food items following safety guidelines and recipes.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, and surfaces.
  • Restock food, utensils, and other kitchen supplies.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with food portioning and packaging as needed.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications / Education

  • One year of dietary experience in a healthcare facility (preferred)
  • Ability to understand menu, recipes, therapeutic diets
  • On the job training provided for kitchen procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to pass Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of position
  • Be a team player
