Description

Responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Food Services department in accordance with established food services standards, policies, procedures, and practices of this facility and requirements of current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that quality nutritional services are provided in a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Tasks

  • Plan and develop menus that meet dietary, cost, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, and training.
  • Monitor and control food and labor budgets for cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation for consistency and quality.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and manage food supply orders.
  • Implement improvements based on feedback and operational reviews.

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five years progressively responsive experience in health service organization which includes at least three years management/supervisory experience.
  • Must be experienced as a supervisor in Food Services, including management of employee resources, evaluating and recommending action regarding quality and composition of charts; experience working with Joint Commission requirements.
