Description
Responsible for the management of referrals in the Behavioral Health system, which includes all Outpatient Behavioral Health facilities within the Penn Highlands system.
Tasks
- Receive, review, and process patient referrals from primary care providers or specialists.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and patients to schedule appointments and ensure timely follow-up care.
- Ensure that patient referrals are covered by their insurance plans.
- Monitor the status of patient referrals.
Qualifications / Education
- Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse
- One year behavioral health or patient care experience
- Experience working in multi-practice environment
- Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification within 6 months
- Ability to analyze referral information and efficiently schedule patients with a provider in the appropriate region of the system
