Description

Responsible for the preparation of quality food for internal and external customers, and for maintaining food safety and quality assurance.  Responsible for the different levels and consistencies of food that patients can tolerate per their diet order.  Keeping a clean environment is key.  

Tasks

  • Prepare meals following recipes, dietary needs, and portion guidelines.
  • Cook a variety of dishes based on daily or weekly menu plans.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Assist with planning menus that meet nutritional requirements.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and track food and supply levels.
  • Store food properly and check expiration dates regularly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.

Qualifications / Education

  • One year of dietary experience in a healthcare facility (preferred)
  • Ability to understand menu, recipes, therapeutic diets
  • On the job training provided for kitchen procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to pass Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of position
  • Be a team player
