Description
Responsible for receiving incoming phone calls into the clinic, processes refill requests and prior authorizations for medications. You will also process incoming referrals and scheduling in the appropriate location.
Tasks
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for clinical services.
- Answer incoming calls from patients, respond to inquiries about services, procedures, and treatments.
- Provide information about office policies, insurance, and billing procedures.
- Evaluate and prioritize patient calls, determining the urgency of requests, and directing patients appropriately.
- Ensure that patient information and appointment details are accurately documented in the system.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Medical Assistant with experience in a practice setting preferred
- Two years in a office setting preferred
- Healthcare provider (CPR) certification within one year of hire
- Knowledge of the prior authorizations process preferred
